The gold belt starts in central Alabama, and continues in a crescent up in to Maryland near Washington D.C.. It lies in the following states. Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland.
Almost anywhere you pan in the belt you will get gold. Some of it may be fine, but you will get gold.
